    Default Nagura

I have a few different Naguras ,Tomo's and a Nakayama all used for final polishing.
The softer Naguras seem to work best for me.
Is it worth me buying a Asano Tenjyou Nagura to try out or would it be a waste of cashola?

    Many thanks .

That depends on what others you have. Among the Asano naguras that I know of, that one is the second most coarse, above Botan, and below Mejiero and Komo. I have never stopped at its level so I cannot comment on it as a final polisher. I would think that you would want to proceed to something more fine.

none, with enough work you get the same result.
You want a nice soft one that acts fast, the reason why Koma is so desired.
I use only a Mejiro and it works great for me. Before the Mejiro I sometimes use Tsushima nagura.

I remember the asano naguras like this B,T,M,K. Koma being the finest. However koma nagura aren't cheap, and as far as nagura progression goes the tomo is used after a koma, so it is not absolutely necessary. I just received two new nakayama hones and my only interest now is to get two new tomo nagura that are close to these said stones. Even then, a little slurry from the dmt and a tomo is no longer necessary, so the options are many. Good luck and enjoy, jnats are the finest stones to shave with IMO.

Mainaman makes an excellent point. The Asano nagura are friable and so the slurry should break down into increasingly smaller sizes.

I suppose cannot really judge Naguras anyway because I cannot find a consistency to my honing.
Being a perfectionist who shaves AGT dosnt help matters either
