Thanked: 0Hone Identification?
Well, it's clearly labelled but I wondered if any of you guys know anything about these things, like grit size? or where they're from? and of course, might it be useful for straight honing?
It needs quite a bit of flattening but it feels pretty smooth like slate or ceramic.Last edited by jonjo; 04-14-2015 at 09:01 PM. Reason: attatchments not working

Re-post the pics. the links are not working
A fool flaunts what wisdom he thinks he has, while a wise man will show that he is wise silently.

Thanked: 202Most likely comes from a factory in Welwyn Garden City. I would not use it on razors unless I am repairing any big nicks in the edge.

Thanked: 246Yes if it is truly the well-known version of India stone it's going to be relatively coarse in the razor sharpening sphere. No use other than bevel setting for the most part. These are synthetic stones composed of aluminum oxide.
