Thanked: 2284Thanks Mike. Maybe I'll wait until my wife's gone to try that. And if I can't get it, I'll bring it to the next meet. I've got kerosene here and I believe I saw some toluene at work.

Thanked: 4206Toluene is clear gold. Noxious, carcinogenic, and bad for the skin. But an awesome cleaner. Hard to find these days because of the cautions, but great stuff for its intended purpose when handled properly.
Gloves and a mask, well ventilated and you are good 2 go.
I pilfered the toaster oven into the garage when I did mine. Gave the mini oven a clean with easy off before returning as well.
Wifey was suspicious why I cleaned it, but could find no fault, hehehe."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 2284I have a toaster oven I picked up at value village a while back, specifically for jobs like this. Think I paid $10 for it and I haven't used it yet. Was hoping to get into wood stabilizing with it. Maybe I'll try it yet today

What is the overall length of the stone? You could always sand the rough parts where the crack is and make it into two barber sized hones.
