    Default Deutsche Schleifmaterialen Gesellschaft?

Was looking for a yg thuringian, so I bought this hoping I am not to far off... Is this a Deutsche Schleifmaterialen Gesellschaft Steinach-hone? From the threads here, and elsewhere on the web, I have only seen DSG hones labeled with the letters DSG written into one another.

I saw that one on ebay, you outbid me. Should be a great hone. BTW never heard of DSG.

Looks like an amazing performer! I love my YG thuris. That looks especially light/yellow. I'm jealous.

From what I have seen online, it does not seem like labeling with separate letters is ordinary for DSG- made me unsure of the origin of the hone. Anyway, I'm very exited to see how this hone performs compared to my rather dark blue vtg thuri

It should be nice and soft but super fine. I love my light YG thuris the most. Great smooth shaving edges. I have a soft spot for soft stones though, I love the feedback.

Well congrats to the hone at first. I was watching the auction too. The hone is clearly from the Deutsche Schleifmaterialien Gesellschaft. They used the letters DSG in different forms and various layouts.
The company was located in Steinach/ Thuringia in the 1920ths. It is reported, that for a few years they owned the quarry in Steinach, were also the famous Escher hones had had been mined before.
Anyway it looks like a very good quality thuringian - and thats all that counts!
