Thread: Old barber's drawer full o' hones!!

I was the lucky high bidder on this auction of an old barber's drawer full of razor hones. While I can make out a Swaty and an Arkansas, I'm not sure about many of the others. Any opinions from the learned??

That looks like a steal! Probably have to wait til you get your hands on them to know for sure though.

Thanks. Maybe I lucked out big time if there's a Thuri or dare I even say, an Escher, in there! Thought for the money it was a gamble worth taking.

Will do as I'm sure there will be more questions. I'm just getting started in the SR journey and know precious little.

Like you said, for the price, if there is a single decent hone in there, you did alright. If there's two or three decent hones you made out. And if you get a unicorn for that price tag, congrats, but I hate you. Lol

LOL. Fair enough!! But you can bet that if there is a unicorn in there I will most definitely post several close up pics here for posterity.

I also think it is super hard to tell. I bought a similar lot for a similar price some time ago. I thought I'd pay that much for a closer look. I think you have a good chance of treasure for a very low risk. It may also be a box full of nothing special. I just have to take a leap periodically.

Might be a Score or not ;-) looking forward to see the details....hope you have some nice ones!!
