Dude, (sorry I'm not a dude kind of guy but seriously, dude) you found this rock in an antique store, which means your rock is old. Now, obviously, all rocks are old, but yours was mined way before anybody bothered making note of veins from just one mine.

For that reason, my idea for an ID is...
    it's a coticule.

    Have fun with it!
I've got a feeling this one will be great fun indeed. I'll be giving it a go tomorrow. Something to look forward to all day at work

I looked at your photos again and this time noticed the background which allowed me to see that you have other coticules. THIS is where some of the fun comes in. ALL of these rocks perform a little differently. Personally, I have never found a coticule that I did not like, which is why I have somewhere between 30 and 40 coticules, because whether they are fast or slow, or a bit more coarse or fine, they ALL provide a perfectly good shaving edge. I have several coticules out on loan to others, and when I go to meet-ups I usually bring several coticules to allow people to hone on a variety of coticules to see just how much they can vary. I do this because I like letting others try out this extremely traditional form of razor sharpening.

I always look for hones, razors, and knives at the antique stores my wife drags me to. I have scores some nice blades but no hones just yet! Nice find
