    They are nice stones, he has sold a boatload of them, they are a decent size, at a decent price, they are good for learning to use slurry, some can produce a shaveable edge in competent hands, they most probably are not 8K or close. So if you buy one, know that going in.

    If you want to learn to hone or maintain a razor, do so on synthetic a 12k. Synthetics will give you a foolproof shaveable edge every time, then once mastered experiment with natural stones, there are tons of them out there, some vintage slates that are 8K or better, some much better.

    There have been many new frustrated guy threads using these stones trying to lean to hone on the cheap, doubt many are using them as finisher now.

    Your $15 would be better spent on some good Chromium Oxide from SRD, now that, you will use for the rest of your life…

    Cheers guys

    I was thinking about splashing out on a Shapton Ceramic 8K then saw those, I think the Shapton is the go... Even if it is 4-5x the price.
