Very happy so far. Only had time to unpack age them and give a quick once over. As advertised, AJ pre-lapped them. The edges are already chamfered, even on the rubbing stones. No cracks or chips, and very close to being ready for use. I'll work on polishing them up when I get off work. If I get them all prepped, I'll have to choose a victim for experimentation!

I'm not familiar with the Black Welsh Slate but do have the DT and the LM, both very good finishing hones. I have used the DT first then switch to the LM with very good results.

Nice one! Ive had fun playing with my purple slate this week, its put a nice edge on a few razors that I've tried. Can easily use it as a finisher.

There's only one problem: too many rocks, not enough razors to hone! Lol.

I have a geometrically sound razor that I only paid $7 for that I kill the edge and re-hone it almost daily. Unless I have something else to hone. I can hardly go a day without honing something.

I was seriously contemplating doing that, but it seemed too OCD! Lol. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

You guys are killing me. I bought the purple slate and its on its way already. ...these look very nice too, very uniform and consistent in color and cut and size. I guess it's not wasteful if it's research...

I would be interested to know your opinion of it. I'm still working the scratches out of the LM. Haven't gotten around to trying them yet. Project for tomorrow!
