Looks like a promising stone.
Found one funny thing though: on line vendor Griffiths https://www.griffithshavinggoods.com...nt=12749415620 puts these in the 12-15K grit size range but Erhaso VERMIO-Slate Finishing Stone Extra Fine 8000 Grit - * ERHASO WEBSHOP * puts them in the 8K range.Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. They label that as JIS 8000, which is supposed to come out to ~12k on this sheet

Rusen, I'm not the only person in Greece that likes hones or honing. I know at least another one in Athens (US citizen ) and a friend I recently met who just started shaving with a straight razor. Greece is not a big country, but it's not Luxembourg either, there are also other people who like stones and sharp stuff here.
That being said, northern Greece/Macedonia is my territory and I happen to know someone who knows someone, and I've tested a few stones.
Really hard, lapping it is a pain, it's not particularly fast, but with slurry it's not slow either, I prefer to use it with Smith's solution as a final finisher; it feels like a good Jnat, although some find it extremely sharp for their tastes and prefer it with water, where it's sharp enough, but a lot smoother than with Smith's solution. Although it is hard, the feedback is similar to that of a dark Thuringian, as well as its speed on water.
I haven't noticed any difference on edge refinement or speed between the same stone finished on an atoma 400 grit and a highly polished, mirror like surface.
Something very strange with this stone is that all the pieces feel and perform exactly the same, it's almost like it's a man made stone, but again, that's only my opinion.
Overall, I like it.

Thanked: 66I have been among the lucky people whom received the stone for testing last Jul, I have been impressed by it edges and the level of comfort it offers, excellent stone with good cutting abilities that excels with hard steels, as the edge that it leave on a hard steel razor is very similar to what high quality JNat do.
*
Now, I note that it is very important with this stone to bring the edge at least to higher mid-range to get the most of it, taking the edge from the bevel setter is going to take long time as the slurry lose it cutting abilities very fast, the good thing about this that you can finish with light slurry and you will still get a very nice shave.
*
I have achieved a very impressive mirror finish on it surface, yes it took long time but it worth it, as it made the stone perform differently and produce sharper than comfortable edge, also the scratch pattern was much finer under magnification.*

And here is a Dan's Black ark

Anyway, my best shave of this stone is after dressing the stone with large knife
Here is a video from my YT Channel Honing on the Vermio.

Thanked: 168What i see is very good AdjuwaiedAK im a fan of your honing clips , and you have very good honing technique Its just my opinion , but arent those stokes too agresive and fast for finishing Ive noticed from my personal experience that a slow and very light benefits a lot the edge from a hard stones like this
Actualy slow and light strokes benefits the finishing of every stone
Theedge looks very good at the test , anyway

Thanked: 66Agree, generally slow and steady is good when honing, however in this video I was showing off my lage stone the size of the stone is very tempting to go full speed, anyway as you will read in the video description I took this razor to a little business trip with me and stropped only on a clean leather paddle strop and used a hand soap to shave, nevertheless it was one of the best shaves I had ever, there was absolutely no feeling during and after the shave, Super close and comfortable shave.
I don't recommend honing at this speed as you might hurt the edge or yourself, if you note my left hand has a big cut from a Razor.
I guess stropping on the Vermio provide nice results.
Thanks for your nice words my friend.
