    10pups the Norton 4/8k is a work horse stone. I can get a really good shave from the 8k and a pasted stropping.
    jollo74 those are magnificent specimens you have there. Nice! Phrank that is a gem. Thanks for sharing.

    Ok, I been looking for a long time. Synthetic rocks, Eschers and Coticules I got. But, this at a garage sale finished my HAD! Light Green. Oh yes, final cost $15 with the extra $10 I gave him. They are out there!

    As for me it's definitely the natural combo Coticule / BBW that I inherited from my great grandfather
    When I obtained the stone, the stone was very dirty, might have been used with oil; but I'll never be sure of this

    Kinda want a Charnley Forest. Not because I have a particular need or use for it. But they have a nice color and I like the name of them.

    A hard black Arkansas would be nice too.

    For me I find a lot of the appeal is the look of the stone. I remember when I was a kid ( mid to late 60's) rock tumblers were a big thing. Put in an ordinary stone and get out what seemed to be a gem. Imagine that today? Lol.
