You guessed it! I've really only bought two as the first one had a crack which i returned to the seller and got a replacement which was never returned from the SRP member who volunteered to lap it. the third one was from Wood craft which is course and i havent had time to burnish it and try and see if it will work. actually thinking about getting another from ebay. Just can't make myself spend more money than that for a finisher when i'm getting by with my 8k. (silly i know).

Thanked: 481Well in all fairness, if you haven't had the chance to prep the surface and give one that's ready to finish a fair shake you can't hold that against the PHIG. You might have a pretty good finisher in your hand. I will say I don't envy anyone that faces the task of lapping these SOBS though. I did it once, and I really need to prep the backside of mine, but I do NOT want to do that again.
And nothing to build a slurry with, not even another piece of PHIG! Water only.

I came in on the slow bus, but I think I'm about to get off of it now ! The word "Guangxi" helped. I type in guangxi hone into Ebay and found this picture of something that looks like mud slate to me. Natural whetstone for sharpening, honing.12000 grit size, Slightly imperfect.
