    Bought this hone at a flew market today and finally cut through all of the oil on it (still needs some work) does anyone have an idea what it is and maybe grit?Name:  IMG_20160530_161654.jpg

    I'm going to go get some simple green and some sand paper and get it the rest of the way cleaned up, just as well use it i got it for 20 so its an alright price but wishing it was for a razor!

    I know some guys that use them for low-midrange razor work. You could always give it a shot and see how you like it.
    Even though I don't use them for razors I love washitas. You'll be hard pressed to find a single stone that's better for knives and tools.

    I just released a video of myself using a washita as a bevel setter and then on to mid range. What other stones do you have?

    Well the video shows using a washita and coticule to go from dull to shave ready. If you want to watch it, it's in the thread coticule slurry on an Ark in the honing forum.
