Thread: New Arkansas stones...

I recently bought a full set of Dan's Whetsone hones--soft, hard, and surgical black--in 8x2.5". I just honed on them for the first time this evening. It was a really enjoyable experience. I took a shave ready GD208 and killed the edge and took it through the whole 3-stone progression. The edge came out killer. I think I'm going to like these stones more than any system I'm tried yet because they are natural, they originate in the USA, and they have a reputation of producing great edges. The shave test comes tomorrow morning.
