Thanked: 3215“I believe that dovo video was produced in the late 90's early 2000's.”
Perhaps, but I hone a lot of New Dovo’s and TI’s for AOS and they are all the same, with the steep bevel angle from final honing, with the spine off the stone.

Thanked: 458Late in responding, but I'd slurry a soft ark, use it with some pressure and work through the ark progression. It takes me about the same amount of time to set up a new razor with that progression as it does someone with synthetics. The difference is that I have to use a little bit more pressure and only lap the coarsest stone.
A progression I'd use, since you have the luxury is:
Soft slurried
Soft no slurry (use a separate stone)
washita no slurry
hard ark, no slurry, starting with medium firm pressure and ending with none
The whole progression is about 10 minutes on a razor that has an OK but not perfect bevel (like a new razor with a secondary bevel) and that hasn't been used in quite some time, or is new.
