“I believe that dovo video was produced in the late 90's early 2000's.”

Perhaps, but I hone a lot of New Dovo’s and TI’s for AOS and they are all the same, with the steep bevel angle from final honing, with the spine off the stone.

When did Dovos, get bad rep? Haven't gotten a Dovo in a long time.

No they didn't. Their bevels are less than "perfect" when they leave for the buyers. That's no big deal, and they are not the only ones; on the contrary, a lot of razors from most big factories do need some minor edge repair.

Late in responding, but I'd slurry a soft ark, use it with some pressure and work through the ark progression. It takes me about the same amount of time to set up a new razor with that progression as it does someone with synthetics. The difference is that I have to use a little bit more pressure and only lap the coarsest stone.

A progression I'd use, since you have the luxury is:

    Soft slurried
Soft no slurry (use a separate stone)
    washita no slurry
hard ark, no slurry, starting with medium firm pressure and ending with none

The whole progression is about 10 minutes on a razor that has an OK but not perfect bevel (like a new razor with a secondary bevel) and that hasn't been used in quite some time, or is new.

Gonna try this later today. Thanks.
