Still pondering stones, good ones, affordable ones, suitible for my needs.
I'm thrifty. I love a great, off the path product for cheap. I know, you generally get what you pay for. I think if I was full on committed to solely honeing straight razors with a hone, I'd go with the Nortons.
I'm still a dabler. That's some coin for a dedicated to straights only stone.
I was about to click the button on a King 1k/6k. Hmm doesn't seem to match the grit I'd like for an all around hone. I then found a Taidea 4k/8k. Anyone have experience with these. It is likely I'll also take it out to the shop to improve my chisels and planer blades to so a soft stone won't do it. Also a good reason not to put $80 in a hone. Imo

Then again the King 1k would be a good bevel set for blades in bad shape. 6k and pasted strop? Or demand 8k or bust?
