I've got to ask. Who is spending upwards of $1000 on jnats. I see them on ebay and wonder if guys on here buy them?

Thanked: 18Well. Knife people also buy them. If you look into the kitchen knife forum you will see many example of 1000$+ stones for $1000+ knives.

Thanked: 2591Yes people buy $1k or more expensive Jnats. 1K is not that much really, there are some that cost a lot more. For example in 2010 or 2011 I was shown this Nakayama Habutae that was priced at $8000, the price coming from the uniformity , rarity and size of such hone. Some folks are collectors and will pay that kind of money.

I know a guy who paid north of 2K for a j-nat. Not off of ebay though. I've seen a couple of Eschers go just under 1k a couple of years ago.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
