    Default $1000 jnats.

I've got to ask. Who is spending upwards of $1000 on jnats. I see them on ebay and wonder if guys on here buy them?

Well. Knife people also buy them. If you look into the kitchen knife forum you will see many example of 1000$+ stones for $1000+ knives.

Add carpenters to that list. They spend lots of money on their Japanese chisels and planes, too.

Yea. I am not sure eBay is the right place to buy a 1000$ anything.

Edit: just looked up the most expensive items sold on eBay [emoji849][emoji15]

Yes people buy $1k or more expensive Jnats. 1K is not that much really, there are some that cost a lot more. For example in 2010 or 2011 I was shown this Nakayama Habutae that was priced at $8000, the price coming from the uniformity , rarity and size of such hone. Some folks are collectors and will pay that kind of money.

That's like ordering a 20 ounce prime rib from McDonald's...you get what you pay for

I know a guy who paid north of 2K for a j-nat. Not off of ebay though. I've seen a couple of Eschers go just under 1k a couple of years ago.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
