I see the instructions tell the tale that the rest of us learned the hard way!

    Nice score that.

Thank you. This thread just motivated me to try it out. I just honed the razor for tomorrow morning's shave. Crossing my fingers[emoji846]

I am always looking for good barber hones at flea markets, auctions & garage sales. My to favorite Barber hones are my John Primble & Clearcut. Both of them scored very high at the barber hone shoot out at the other forum. The Clearcut may just edge out the Primble but both are great for touch up's. That said I would love to have a Norton. Just have to keep looking.
I am hoping to get either a 16K Shapton glass or a 15K Shapton Pro after my "B" day.

Word of advice to all you barber hone folks. If you get the urge to lap your hone flat... Just Dont. Unless its obviously worn, and NEEDs flattening. Otherwise your just making trouble for yourself.

+1 they rely on a burnished surface much like an ark. I have owned 10+ Barber hones and lapped none. Don't do it!

One word of caution on the Norton Razor Hone, the most crumbly and rotted barber hone I've ever seen was one of those, it literally self slurried. I don't know how it got that way but was unusable

This one is fine. I used it the other nite and no slurry.
