I have a Shapton 1k! They are very aggressive, pretty hard and leaves a very fine scratch pattern, if it didn't clog up with harder steels I would not have purchased the Chosera 1k. If you have harder steels I would not go for it Harts, PRCs etc is my point.

I have the glass Shapton 500,1,4,8,16 , I sold the 30k.
And the Chosera 1,5,10k.
The Shapton range I use for knives only now, apart from the 500k which I use for serious chips and alike.
I moved to the Chosera range and never looked back.
However I now hone exclusively on jnats , my Chosera range is deader than my Shapton range.
Excluding the 1k of course.

Thanked: 4942I have become quite fond of the Naniwa Traditional 1K stone. Excellent bevel setter! Feels more like an old waterstone but functions and results similar to the other Naniwas. Very nice price point on this one.
Have fun.
