Check under the light, you should see an even reflection across the entire edge. Go to 4K to set it shaving again, keep checking after every 7-8 strokes, until the reflection is gone (keeping the number of strokes relatively low, because I dont know how fast you 4K is). After this, two rounds of Botan, and one round of each Tenjyou and Mejiro, finish on tomo, as you did before. So the key is getting a good bevel indeed, but the rest is still all about learning your stone, which I feel you dont need any help with, just practice. I'll give this a try the next time I get a chance. In the mean time I need to order a Tomo Nagura, It didn't come with my set and I've done a lot of reading and it seems to be the last stone to use. Guess that's why they don't include it in the set. Get you hooked and make you buy another. Ha. Thanks for the reply and info.

Although, I've also read that Tomo is just a same stone as your finisher. So if I use a fine diamond plate to make slurry with, isn't that the same as a Tomo? BTW, My finisher is a Shoubundi.
