Yup, same behaviour, slightly different composition for export market. Japan, being quite humid.
The HNK's tolerate being damp very well but can craze a bit in overly dry environments much like the Choceras do.

I would honestly report there being little to no difference in these kuromaku hones and norton as far as an 8k edge goes for comfort and end result.
