I really dont think its too much pressure, since I did get it to be sharp as hell, but took a long way to get there. You can feel the feedback on the stone and the metal the goes into the slurry. This one was the slowest to hone which I translate to it being a hard steel (may be wrongfully). Tha is as opposed to my Full hollow 6/8 friodur, took no more than 15 minutes start to finish.
Could be a different temper, I suppose. My quarter hollow blades can be tough but I do not have much experience on half hollows.
