Name that stone part 4! Soft Arkansas?
Hello once again! Here is a stone of which I am unsure about. Definitely a natural, medium hard, laps easier than the brown stone in part 3 of this series but still on the hard side. It is a mottled black, tan, cream, and off white. It reminds me of some soft Arkansas in my collection however none of them are this dark it creates a thin light brown slurry when lapped as shown in the image. Thanks for your time gents!

Thanked: 458slate or hindostan (sandstone). Lap the side of the stone a little bit and it should lighten up. if it's hindostan, it will have visible layers. Looks like it's on the fine side if it's a hindostan, too.
Cut test will also tell you something. If it doesn't seem to cut that fast and doesn't seem to be that fine, it's likely some kind of sandstone (like hindostan).
