Default My new highly religious coticule

A recent ebay score arrived yesterday. Cleaned up quite nicely. I'll do some honing later today and see what's what. I've been told that the pinkish lines means I shoukd be in for quite a treat.

Why is it religious? Kosher perhaps?

It's my understanding that some companies did this as a marketing gimmick back in the day and it serves no real purpose at all.

    Slurry sink holes?
I am sure gravity will pull all the slurry particles into the holes.

I was thinking friction reduction, but slurry sinks kinda makes sense too.
