    These 8" ones pop up from time to time. Obviously Hirlau found his!
    I've wondered why they made an 8" model because it sort of defeats the main point of a barber hone which is to just have a small pocket sized stone for quick touchups in between shaves... And then when you look back at the price difference you can really see why the 8" ones are a lot more rare...

    I think they made the bigger ones because the smaller ones were great hones. At least the Pike version and the Währing Bei Wien ones anyway - those are the two that I have found to be excellent. They are almost like a historical version of an 8k+ Shapton.
