Thanks Mike, I like most guys here have a couple of BH,s but bought early on and not in great shape, plus the edges I got off of them wasn't so good. So I want to find ONE to go in my bag. And I would like the best I can get so now I Know what to keep my eyes out for. I will be watching your threads carefully no so thanks again. Tc

No problem Tc, it's my personal favorite. There are many others that are "high performance" but do not want to drive up $$.

Good observation and question sir. Unless it is a dry hone you can see by some of the pics it is a thicker type “lather”. After many tests finally settled on the brush-less shave cream (higher glycerin content) for barber hones, see below. There are different types available, Cremo some of your croaps etc. I use Kiss my Face watered down for barber hones. The Stephan I typically use for my 3rd pass shave so I can feel if I missed any stray whiskers..
Squirt on a little dab and dip some water on the barber hone to smear. Make your razor strokes or passes. Cannot stress enough that you must WASH OFF AFTER USE!. Skin is slightly acidic, and soaps and creams are alkali, which can degrade the hone surface over time. Continue to experiment, this squeezes the best performance out of a BH.

Thank you for the information you provide!
Now, I want the folks to petition the moderators of the hone to make a subforum for Barber hones.
