I would at least try to glue it as there is not much to loose. If the break is hard to match or crumbles you could go end to end.

If it is broken in half, you have 2 great barber's hones.
Gluing a hone seems sketchy. Esp a finisher. JMO

Like Tim said if the break us not clean glue the 2 ends together and glue to a base, lap it well, make sure when you glue it to use clamps, Good luck. Tc

Marine expoxy won't work since you're not a Marine...instead ya gotta use Army epoxy...it's in AR 13-69!

I want to echo the previous post about the virtues of the Vermio hone.

I have a full set of Naniwa new superstones, including the 12K. I rarely use it as I was never able to get a keen, smooth edges for my beard and face. When doing a full sequence honing, I progress up the Naniwa grit levels through the 10K and the move to natural stones. My current finisher of choice is the Greek Vermio. The edges I get using that stone rarely disappoint. I seem to get the best edges using it lubricated with a few drops of gylcerin, liquid hand soap, or shaving cream.

I remember when I felt the same about the 12 k naniwas? Just was not giving me a smooth edge.

Me being a coticule user and achieving nice smooth shaves which natural stones are known for I found my self going back to my coticule s..

Then I thought I am going to work more with the naniwas and I am loving the edges from the 12 k naniwas.

I have had some of the nicest shaves of my 12 k naniwas. One of the member here said to me if these Hones had of been around 50 years ago I doubt barbers
would of used coticule etc etc etc I think he could be right .

That has been my experience too, after Glen convinced me that you learn the stone you have. If you have a great razor stone, just learn it and Max it out. Wth a 12k naniwa my shaves are as keen and smooth as any other stone out there, mist other stones are a "want" issue than a "better" issue. To be honest for traveling my friend just get you a good inexpensive barbers hone or as Tom said, right now you have 2 barbers hones bow, get all the naturals you want, it's fun to collect, but you don't want to be without the stone you know. I bet f you show interest we can come up with a BH for a guy on deployment. Tc

I like Gasman's suggestion. I remember Whipped Dog was selling quarter Nortons and apparently those do the job nonetheless.

Where are you deployed? Maybe they have nice local stones there.

Just out in Korea, not a "real" deployment but away from home none the less. It's quite a nice country. I'm probably going to go with the Vermio and use the Naniwa halves as they are, when i put then together there are some chips at the joint.
