I picked it up because it was cheap and the saw marks are similar to that of thuri’s. It’s a very odd shape, but very comfortable for hand honing. The inclusions have no effect. I’d say it has a middle hardness. Between my thuri’s and la’lune. Great finisher. Great find enjoy it!

A strange stone. It has the famous dots of WOA and the red coloration could be the remains of the red paint the WOA was painted, I think for the French market,

but the stone looks different than a WOA. In any case, if you enjoy its edges, a nice purchase.

Yes it does appear to be. I have been in pm with doorsch, as I didn’t want to hijack the thread.

Thank you it is a great shave!

Thank you Sebastian, I knew you would consider the possibility.
If only our dearest friends Neil and Henk were still around. They truly new their stuff and we needed to learn more from them. Alas, c'est la vie.

Not to stray too far from original thread, that's a perfect example of a Chinese finishing stone. It has all the clear-cut characteristics you can find in one, and their combination on no other type of stone, from what I have seen so far.
Be careful of that orange/brown line. On the ones I have seen so far it wasn't behaving like a "toxic" inclusion, but you can never be too sure.
