Try the Atoma for a few laps, just short strokes. If there is no obvious high spot just go ahead & use it. As I said tho, the 1200 is not the tool for flattening an uneven stone. The 400 is a better choice.
I probably don't need to tell you that as with honing, lapping is best done with a progression of grits if the stone is really uneven.Last edited by onimaru55; 03-28-2018 at 11:11 PM.

Thanked: 101With the little to no pressure needed on the 30K. hone. After you get it flat the first time, it should be good for a l o n g time! My 16K Shapton stays pretty flat.
