Thanked: 556Actually used the beaver-barber hone yesterday to touch up the edge on a Robeson Shuredge that was starting to pull. I was at the cottage and didn’t have my honing stuff with me, so I figured I’d see what the beaver hone could do.
Lubricated the hone with lather and did a bunch of X-strokes and circles using only the weight of the blade. I can’t tell if the front of the hone has a different grit from the back, so I only use the back because it has a larger useable area.
Followed with about 60 strokes on an English bridle travel paddle strop. Shaved very well.
Guess it works.David
