    They look interesting, but not cheap. Considering I've already got a full set of hones from the likes of Shapton, Suehiro and Naniwa I won't be likely to try them. I don't usually like to bother with hones that need to be soaked either - these say 20-30 minute soak recommended.

    Edit: just noticed the Canadian Dollar bit. Didn't catch that the first time, thought it was USD. Price is a bit more reasonable then.

    I double-checked about the SPS, and no, that's not going to be on par. The "Good" SPS series sold in Japan has nearly no binder. There is another series that has binder... confusing! Not sure which series Lee Valley sells.

    No, not used them, but at $100 8k, not cheaper than known great performers, 10k is $150-190. An 8k Junpaku is about $100 and the Shapton Pro $70, Glass $115

    There was a review pass around about a year ago on CKTG forum, knife guys gave them an OK, but no rave review, claimed needed lots of soaking and were muddy.

    Though they are mostly knife guys, they were not impressed.
