I haven’t used an Escher or thuri but I know the feeling. Used to cotis but first time using a jnat I thought it would be smoother feeling on the stone.

I get that glassy feeling from my Vermio. It was lapped very smooth when I received it from Griffiths and it almost feels as if you are polishing on glass.

Perfect sense to me. They are special stones IMO. They give pretty good feedback almost as if they are very soft stones but the bevels don’t look like they were honed on a softer stone and the edges can be pretty amazing. What shocked me the most was the almost synthetic simplicity of using them.
