Hum i'm not a specialist... more a collector.

What could it be if it is not a coti ?

Hard to say until it’s been cleaned up.

That is big. Though in the coticule museum I've seen one that was 3 cm thick, 12 cm wide and about 60 cm long or something like that.

I was thinking the same thing. At first, it struck me as possibly being what we on the American forums like to call a "sud-ouest" stone.

It does remind me of a PDSO, but it would be a huge example of one. I’m intrigued- can’t wait to see pics after it’s cleaned up a bit.

PDSO stands for "pierre du sud-ouest." It's a name given to a light ochre or mud-colored stone that looks and acts similar to a coticule. As I understand it, it's real name is not known, and the only reason it is called "pierre du sud-ouest" is because many of these stones have be purchased from eBay sellers in that area of France.

If that is what you have, and I agree that the stone needs to be cleaned up first for a better chance of identification, it would be worthwhile for us to know what such a stone is actually called in France.
