Last find Big Mama Coticule
Hi all !
Just want to share with you my last find... Looks like an old coticule.
26,5 cm x 5cm and cream layer is about 2cm thick !!! WOW
I'm so happy

A hone that size was likely made for tools. I’m super curious what edges you will be able to produce. Still a great find even if it is not extra fine.

Perhaps I did not express myself well.
There is a chance that a tool hone will not be as fine as a razor hone. They did manufacture them for many different markets with different quality levels specific for those markets. As a tool hone it may not be as fine as one intended for razors. There is no way to look at and tell if it is 6K to 10K, you need to lap it and try it. If it is a 6K tool hone it is still a great find, if it is a 10K extra fine hone suitable for finishing razors, it’s a crazy find.It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Great find. Post some pics when it’s cleaned up / lapped please. It probably is, but I’m not 100% convinced it’s a coti based on those pics.
