Thanked: 1587Official Retirement from the HAD Society
Well fellows, it took many months, numerous shopping excursions, and hour upon hour scouring the web, but I feel I'm about ready to lay aside the HAD.
It was a hard fought battle and there were many casualties along the way. The most prominent, of course, being my wallet. I've ended up with many, many (many) stones. However, I have finally defeated my enemies with the purchase of a perfect Nakayama Asagi from So.
No photos at the moment as I only just got it in the post. Hopefully tomorrow.

Thanked: 1587Thanks Ironmaiden.
Anyway, as promised, some pictures.
I haven't used it yet, as I need to lacquer the sides. I also got an Atoma 1200 grit diamond plate while I was at it, to use on the stone for slurry and lapping. It's still on its way from Japan. Apparently it needs to be caulked on one side to stop it rusting on the inside . Guess I'll see when it arrives.
