You could p.m. Rob if you don't get answers here. He probably has info, even if he's not digging them up.

Howard knows. He told me about them once but I can't remember much; I think they are faster cutters.

They're called "salmon rouge," or that's what Howard calls them anyway.

This thread makes minor mention of the Salmon Rouge. It is apparently only quarried part of the year due to weather conditions, and is also a more effective bevel-setter.

Bart might also be a go-to person here.

I have a natural with a yellow side that resembles a cheese and tomato pizza with pinkish bits of the blue side coming through. It is a fast cutter even without slurry. Not that I have HAD or anything like it but I also have two on the way that were on ebay here . Item # 130278121549 in case the link doesn't work. The smaller one looks pink to me.

I have a deep pink one. It is my fastest cutter and I use it as my main bevel setter. Only today, I have honed three razors for a member here. Two of them were chipped at the edge, and the third had a bevel that was only partially set. All three bevels were easily corrected by my pink Coticule.
In an old booklet, written in French about Coticules, the different veins and their capabilities, the author writes about Coticules with "lie de vin"-color. (a faded wine-red: pourpre.com - Fiche couleur: lie de vin) They are reported very fast and on the coarse side, mainly sold to woodworkers.
I once posted a a picture of some scratch patterns. The pink one was among it.

The pink one is B1. For reference, E1 is a DMT1200.

I use this hone a lot, but it's not my prefered finisher, although when used with water the results are not as bad as you might think. It's just that I have better Coticules for finishing.

    Hope this helps.

    Bart.

They are used with water. I have seen some old barber's use lather from their electric lather king machines but I always used water. Slurry too sometimes of course.
