i did call dmt today and asked about my dmt and their answer was it has been damaged .They are great people in dmt support.Mr Stan said now they are out of stuck and will send replacement next week.i am very happy at least my money didn't go ------.
    conclusion
Please people don't use dmt 1200 and above grits for lapping any stone.i mean it.it is not meant to do that type job.
Hope this tread save some peoples money and we all learn .thank you all

I have heard to wear a DMT1200 by lapping a stone would be really good.

Hmm. That goes against DMT's advice, but you are right, there are woodworking forums etc. where they say use a waterstone to break in a DMT.

I don't think it's a great idea for the finer DMTs though. If you do it use running water to stop build up of slurry, and keep a close eye on how it's going to avoid overdoing it.

An interesting point I read was that many people mistake the breaking in action with having worn out the DMT, because the effective grit level gets smoother and the cutting action gets much slower. This worries me. It seems you have to choose between fast, uneven cutting Vs uniform cutting action over the whole plate surface. And if you go for uniformity, have you really just broken it in or have you in fact worn it out to a large extent?

On top of this people report their DMT's flatness as being less than perfect.

You certainly need to be aware of the limitations of these DMTs. But diamond plates are still the only sensible choice for some things.

Make slurry (you can use bbw .any other stone which get slurry)then steel knife try to sharpen it until you will feel steel is moving forward without hitting hard dmt particules.you will feel what i am talking about.don't use pressure .it takes quite time to get there and don't overdone.the idea use stone and brake in dmt 1200 and above isn't good one very risky.
You can add dishvasher soap make it smoother while whole process.

I just use a piece of relatively flat hardened steel. I have a piece of tool steel and the body of a chain-breaker that I use for DMT break in. They're both really flat and shiny now.

Sham, is what you are saying that you take a BBW and generate some slurry with it on the DMT and then hone on the DMT with the BBW slurry ?

Or, use a DMT to make slurry on a BBW and then hone on the BBW ?
