    I AM VERY happy .
    I did get my new DMT 8000 .I do appreciate Great customer support on DMT People.they are great.Please guys as we discussed above use caution with DMT'S .THEY are great sharpener if we use right way.Thank You all

    I don't think I did my D8C any favours when I lapped my c12k, under 25x magnification the tops of the diamonds look like they have been flattened and it seems to cut slower than my Naniwa 1k with slurry, I generally bypass it altogether now for all my sharpening, knives or razors.

    I've read that if you take a glass jar you can rub it on your plate and see if it is cutting. I've flattened many a waterstone with my D8C in the last couple of years and mine is still working well. I wouldn't use the C for bevel setting though..... maybe to remove a really big chip. I'm with you on the Naniwa 1k. Mine is a great bevel setter.

    I have tried that, and it does mark the glass so the diamonds are still there, it just doesn't seem to cut as fast as I expect a 325 grit to cut, so I only use it for lapping my 1k and Norton 4k/8k now.
