I sold my 6x2 combo to buy some Naniwas (very nice stones, I might add), but if Howard or Zib ever get 8x3s in stock again I'm buying one! I also really like the lather trick.

Thanked: 488I can tell you how much I like my BBW/Coticule natural. I sold my Nortons and use a Naniwa for setting a bevel then go to the Coticule and finally a Japanese natural. The Coticule is so versatile it handles about anything I throw at it with no need for several man made hones.

For those of us who just like to hone with different rocks, synthetic sometimes, natural when the mood strikes, having a variety is where it's at. I have more than a few coticules and pick one or another depending on my mood. There is something about honing a vintage razor with a stone that has all of that history behind it that appeals to me. Add to that the smooth shaves and coticules are a winner.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
