You know, I really think you should try crox. People are able to use only crox for years. Its the same motion as stropping, and you don't have to learn to hone. With crox, you can keep your edge good for a very long time. Then, when the edge gets unacceptable, you can either learn to hone or send it off.
I'm using crox now in conjunction with the swaty and getting decent results. Maybe this is just my on version of the onset of HAD. Crap.

I think I'll get the two combo stones and go from there. And I agree with Lynn.. .everybody who's started on Naniwas is saying that they're working out better than the nortons, shaptons, etc. That's the reason for my considering them... not because they are what's popular.
