Yeah, I'm not overly fond of stainless either. Those that I have shave well, but are just not as comfortable as carbon steel. As for the stones... I hear ya, but I have trouble shelling out the bucks for what are basically just rocks. Even the dog looks at me and says "dude, you spent a hundred bucks on a rock?!? I dig those up free in the back yard." Of course he doesn't understand the subtleties involved with getting a razor shave ready. The highlight of his day is laying down and licking his... well (cough, cough), nevermind about that. Ah well, I suppose if you want to play in the playground, you've got to have the right toys, right? C'est la vie.

So then, if achieving the ultimate edge on a blade requires purchasing and experimenting with hundreds of dollars worth of "rocks," so be it! I'm okay with that. Really. It's not like I have a problem or anything. I can quit anytime. No, really. It's good. What? C'mon. Why are you looking at me like that. It's fine... really. Sigh....
