Thanked: 346I don't think So uses them on razors, only on chisels, and I think that's traditionally who he sold them to (you notice all his tests are done with chisels), and where he's basing his statements on how hard these stones are to use.
I also believe that the more experience you get with a stone the better you get with it, and that to a large extent it really doesn't matter what finishing stone you use as long as you're good with it. Naniwa 10k & 12k, Shapton 15k, 16k, and 30k, Coticule, Escher, Black/Translucent Arkansas, Charnley Forest, Nakayama -- you are probably better picking one, any one, and investing the time to master it completely, than you are spending time and money trying to find the "best" hone.
