    it is just missing handle. AS soon as you resolve that that stone will be one of the best for final touch up.

    The only thing i know about that stone, is: I WANTS IT!!!!
    I'm with the dudes that think its probably a colored translucent Arkansas...honing on it will tell.

    Unless the person who brought an auction item to my attention specifically said it was okay for me to bid on it, I personally wouldn't.

    No idea if there is a formal or informal rule about that around here, though. Might be a nice thread topic.

    Is it or is it not cracked completely in half? That fissure running down the center would make me nervous.
