I would need a definition of minor as I think I would recommend the 4K and a can of professional strength patience. The can that I use is free. You can get it at any hardware store, or you can just live a bit longer and they deliver it to your door.

Yep, I've done many a repair with microchips on the 4K. I find the 1K to be able to do Just about anything. Its extraordinarily rare I go lower.

I was just about to post the same thing
If a 1k Norton isn't solving the issue, then I don't really think of it as minor myself.
For ebay wedge specials, I've found the DMTs to be handy, but they're pretty aggressive so I still have to spend lots of time smoothing the bevel out after getting off the DMTs.
Take it for what it's worth

Thanks to everyone for the advice provided.
I guess my "minor repair" remark threw people for a loop.
I don't really know what I am talking about when it comes to gauging repair severity.
I did about 200-300 laps on a norton 1K and still couldn't get a nice clean even bevel all the way across the whole edge. So I was looking for something a little faster.
I just got a Naniwa 1K superstone, so maybe I will go with a 400 Superstone to match it.

I've had a couple of Ebay specials (a torrey, 2 gencos, a couple of other USA razors, and a couple of Sheffield wedges) that have taken the proverbial can of industrial strength patience to get rid of nicks and set a good even bevel. I find that the can of patience I use to polish off low-grit scratch marks is more powerful than the can I use to remove the nicks and set the bevel.
Therefore I just ordered a DMT 220 for (very lightly) use in removing nicks and straightening warped bevels. My DMT 1200 will clean that up relatively quickly, and I can go on from there with the sharpening.
If my budget weren't so constrained, I would probably have bought the 325. but I can use the 220 to lap water stones, so that was the extra nudge on that purchase.
