Hi Mac, one just came up on ebay Germany. Item # 160384297889. Looks like recent mfg or very NOS.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Is the colour rendition in the photo's accurate? My monitor is showing a black hone, and if that is the case, it may come from Saxony. Black hones from this area have a very long history of use.

    Kindest regards,
    Alex

It is a dark, dark gray, but i would say that it isn't 'jet' black, like a surgical black arkansas, for example.
    Thanks A_S. Cool information.

Wow, I've seen eschers going for less than that. Someone's gonna be ****ed if it arrives and it turns out it really isn't Thuringian.

Of course it did - the ad was posted here after all. That Faso did not look like an Thuringian to me by the way, more like a Vosgienne. If so, that would speak in favour of Sham's term 'brown Eschers'.

    So who bought this Faso?
I'd love to know more about them.
