    I bought one of those credit card size DMT 325s seen here for creating slurry on stones for which I do not have the 'correct' slurry stone. It is cheap and convenient . I would hate to try it with an 8x3 plate. The little plate works fine and AFAIK it doesn't leave any diamonds in the slurry.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    i have the stone myself and i also recommend getting a slurry stone from zib, he has them listed in the classifieds. the slurry speeds up the process and leaves a nice edge...for the price it is a great deal...
