Thanked: 402Little Weirdo
This little weirdo arrived in the mail today.
it feels like a harder thuringian
it has microscopically small pyrite inclusions
it smells clayish
and a drop of water leaves a darker spot on it than water freshly applied.
Actually I'd say it is a little Thuringian, if not for the color.
Here it is in the midst of his family. Do you think he'd fit in?
What else could he be?Last edited by 0livia; 12-23-2009 at 02:44 AM.

I'm not sure, Olivia, but shame on you for showing me a picture of all those stones and igniting my HAD!!!

Thanked: 402Excuse me, Chris!
The upper picture is all one hone.
Dry, just a bit lapped,
back side
and wet front side

My apologies, I did't have my glasses on and it looked like 1 picture with 3 stones. Have you tried using it yet?

Thanked: 402not seriously....
I've did some strokes on it with a very hard Wüsthof that remained unimpressed.
Yet have to dig out for a honed blade that is a bit softer and see what it does on a polished surface.

I thought it was three different hones in the first pic too. So which one is it in the next pics? The third from the left?
