I will report later when I receive this stones and show some clearer pics. The stone as mentioned before was called minty green so I am guessin it is probably bubblegum winter green or something like that. Whatever it is I want to see it.
I would like to see the hone in person if I could.

+1 .... OTOH, I bought a Charnley Forrest that looked almost white in photos on the internet but was gray/green with reddish bits in person. Is the color of your green hone displaying accurately on your monitor ?
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

not really it looks more greyish than green, in person it has a color similar to that of a mint bubblegum, the edge off the stone is very very similar to that of a chinese 12k and it gives off a greenish slurry. The other stone is the one that baffles me, its so hard that without a slurry it seems to not cut (using a diamond plate for slurry) anyone have any clue as to what the second one might be? it used to be an oilstone and it has some woodgrain pattern on the sides only not the top. Anyway after further experimentation I will post results. Will try to take a picture with something green to it so as to show the contrast better.

Are you certain that both of these stones were mined/ quarried in the UK? Wild guess here, but based on your description, the second one could possibly be a Norway Crag Oilstone, which has a history of use (however poorly recorded), as a razor hone.

    Kindest regards,
    Alex
