Dunno Mackie but it sure looks like a barber hone to me. I bet it will work well for touching up an edge. If you google the company name there is some info on them here and there and some reprint catalogs for sale. Whether they have anything on their hones in them I don't know. They were a high quality company I know that from their pocket knives.
