Got a delivery from SRD yesterday here are some pics. I also am getting a 5K hone but it was on back order.
It was like Christmas As I got another delivery I wasn't expecting till thursday.
It was a Special Electric Hand saw for cutting concrete (Thats what I do for a living)

You got some good stuff. The DVD is a great resource, and you get to see some of Lynn's prized razors too. That paddle strop is a toy and a half. And of course, everyone knows I love the Naniwas. Enjoy it all!

Thanks I need to learn how to use the hones properly as these are me first set. That was one of the reasons for getting the DVD. I watched the whole thing yesterday and plan on reviewing allot.
Also since you are a fan of the nan's you would probably know. I heard there is a film on the that has to be removed. Is this true Or can I just start using them. I assume they come in a condition that doesn't need lapping.

I have seen many posts about a film on the Naniwas, and honestly I don't know. Regardless of whether there is or not, it's a good idea to lap any hone out of the box, because they tend not to come flat.
That said, I tried mine straight out of the box (well, I removed the stickers first) just to see what was what and I got great results. Not saying you should do it, just saying that, for my given Naniwas, it was possible.

Great I don't have a lapping stone so I guess I will have to figure something out.

Wet/dry sandpaper on marble/granite/glass works well. Check out the lapping 101 article in the wiki.

Nice haul! Hope you enjoy it..!
Those Naniwas are great stones, having used both Shapton and Naniwa I can safely say I really like the Naniwa edges. Very sharp, but also smooth, whereas the Shapton edges are a little harsher.
