I've never tasted a hone, but I really like the smell of my naturals. The Maruichi has a real earthy smell to it, and the Charnley Forest is mounted to a pitch covered base which smells like old galleons..!

Disburden that is not a bad idea. I've been using chocolate syrup, strawberries and whipped cream on my coticule, but salt only on the DMTs

Honestly, I thought you guys were a little wierd when ya said you sniffed the stones in that thread last year, but I was nice and didn't say that

um, no. I haven't. Though I will confess my wife is jealous of my razors so something is going on.

But that's not as weird as some of the nearly romantic hand oiling of strops that's been going on around here......just ain't right.
